New York, NY – ESCC is nearing completion of a fully integrated security and communications system design and installation at 160 Leroy in Manhattan’s iconic West Village.
The 57-unit residential complex was designed by the renowned architect Ian Schrager in conjunction with Herzog & de Meuron whom together implemented a free-flowing design that eschews hard angles in favor of curving contours. The building design also provides each of its bespoke luxury condominium units an open and ethereal feel not often seen in other contemporary projects of its kind.
Says Robert Horowitz, President of ESSC, “160 Leroy is yet another ultra-modern development in which ESCC takes pride in providing the discrete, integrated and leading-edge security and communications system design and installation that ESCC is known for. As a residential project of this caliber is considered to be architecturally iconic, it was important that ESCC integrate our systems in such a way as to not take anything away from the building’s design or overall aesthetic.”
Integrated Security and Communications Systems Meets Ultra-Contemporary Architecture
Indeed, while the residences of 160 Leroy may be works of art in themselves, ESCC’s security and communications system design and installation help to ensure that the building’s common areas are safely secured with leading-edge low-voltage systems.
ESCC designed and installed Access Control systems, IP-Based Video Camera systems, Elevator Access Control systems, Back-of-House (BOH) Communications systems, Perimeter Security, as well as supplied the cable for the full city-block development.
Says Horowitz, “The non-traditional footprint of the building presented new challenges for ESCC on a design level. The consistent use of curved interiors and exteriors in the building pushed our design teams to provide new and creative solutions to implementing our systems in even this most contemporary of architectural layouts. In this case, our in-house design team truly showed the importance of ESCC’s all-in-one approach to our system design and build-outs”.
Waterfront Views with World Class Systems Integration
As 160 Leroy begins to attract new residents to its last-of-its-kind living on the West Village waterfront, future residents can have the peace of mind that comes with knowing that 160 Leroy is secure both inside and out.
Says Horowitz, “By looking at the project as whole rather than merely as piecemeal systems for separate areas, ESCC was able to provide 160 Leroy Street a fully integrated network that will ensure secure access and entry for the residents and their guests for years to come.”
